Little Pink Slips

*** Little Pink Slips by Sally Koslow (2007, Penguin Group, 385 pages)

This is a great read by someone who clearly knows the business of writing and magazine
publishing.  In Little Pink Slips, former McCall's Magazine editor-in-chief Sally Koslow
constructs a tale that is sure to leave Chick Lit fans indulged.  The protagonist, Magnolia
Gold is living the high life as magazine editor of the long-running Lady magazine.  Suddenly,
the 38-year-old's life is turned upside when her editor makes a drastic management change to
bring in a brash, inexperienced t.v. personality to be the new editor-in-chief.  Magnolia
decides to suck up her demotion to maintain her luxurious New York style, but is it the
right decision?

Koslow manages to capture the vanity, fun and stress of the industry, in an engaging style.
For those who know the publishing industry, and those who don't, it offers authenticity.
Little Pink Slip's is worth buying and savouring.

Little Pink Slips will be particularly loved by Chick Lit fans over 30-years-old, those
who've worked or are interested in publishing, and any fans who have ever been laid-off.

This is Hailey's first exerperience reading work by Sally Koslow and Hailey looks
